SUWANEE – The Suwanee Police Department is asking for assistance from the public to get more information in the death of an 18-year-old male who was found stabbed in a Suwanee apartment on Monday morning.
At approximately 8:50 a.m. on Monday morning, units with the Suwanee Police Department responded to a call that someone had been stabbed at the Residences at McGinnis Ferry apartment complex located at 4021 McGinnis Ferry Road in Suwanee.
Officers found 18-year-old William Slade Petty deceased in one of the apartments from multiple stab wounds.
The Suwanee Police Department assisted by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and the Gwinnett County Police Department began a search for suspects according to a spokesperson from the Suwanee Police Department.
The District Attorney’s Office had investigators assist with the crime scene investigation.
Suwanee Police are not releasing any additional information about this case or about suspects at this time due to the nature of the investigation.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by a family friend of William “Slade” Petty to assist the family with his final expenses. According to the fundraiser page, Petty grew up in the Suwanee area and was a 2020 graduate of North Gwinnett High School.
