FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — A Flowery Branch home was destroyed after a late-night fire Monday and rekindled the following morning, keeping Hall County Fire Rescue crews busy for several hours across both incidents.

Firefighters were dispatched around 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, to the 4600 block of Guth Road after reports of a residential fire. When they arrived, crews found heavy flames shooting from the attic and roof line of a single-family home.

Because a fire hydrant was not available near the property, firefighters relied on tank water from engines on scene. Water had to be shuttled in by truck, and a tender unit was used to maintain the supply throughout the operation. Despite these challenges, crews mounted an aggressive interior attack and were able to bring the bulk of the blaze under control.

Firefighters remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and conduct overhaul operations before clearing the scene. Two adults who lived in the home escaped safely, but the structure was deemed a total loss.

Just over 12 hours later, at about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, fire crews were called back to the same address after reports of smoke and flames once again coming from the property. When firefighters arrived, what remained of the home was fully involved. Crews quickly moved to extinguish the rekindled fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby wooded areas and neighboring properties.

Officials said winds of 5 to 11 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, may have helped reignite and intensify the remaining embers from the previous night.

No injuries were reported in either incident. Both residents had exited the home before firefighters arrived during the initial response.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
