BUFORD — Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office are currently looking into an incident that occurred a cellular retailer that took place on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. At approximately 8:10 p.m., Hall County responded to the Verizon Wireless store located in the 4000 block of SR 347/Lanier Islands Parkway in Buford/South Hall area.
A black male robbed the Verizon Wireless by gunpoint and then making off with thousands of dollars in store merchandise. According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office, “The suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a black shirt, black jacket, jeans, and white shoes. He had a towel-like cloth over the bottom of his face and was wearing a hood. The man left the scene in a brown 2008 to 2013 Cadillac CTS.”
Hall County investigators determined that the suspect approached a female employee near the back door to the business. He then forced her inside at gunpoint. The suspect then pointed his gun at the male employee demanding store merchandise. After the suspect got what he demanded, he took the two employees to the bathroom and told them to lie on the floor. The robber then fled the scene.
No one was injured in this armed robbery.
