Baseball player Brandon Marsh, a Buford graduate, is traded to Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies received outfielder Brandon Marsh, a 2016 graduate of Buford High School, in a trade deal made on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Marsh was traded from the Los Angeles Angels to the Phillies in exchange for catching prospect Logan O’Hoppe.

The 24-year-old Marsh was drafted by the Angels organization in the second round in 2016 straight out of high school. He later made his MLB debut on July 21, 2021 after the Angels’ starting outfielders were plagued by injuries.

Since his debut, Marsh has played all three outfield positions for the Angels. He has been the Angels’ primary left fielder during this season.

Marsh will not be eligible for free agency until after the 2027 season.
