Buford 74, Rabun Gap 72
The Buford (4-2) boys basketball team edged out Rabun Gap (10-3) 74-72 to claim victory in a non-region game held at the Buford Arena on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
The Wolves have another non-region game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. Their opponent is Cherokee High School.
North Gwinnett 65, Discovery 48
Blake Seitz and Caleb Jones-Dicks led North Gwinnett (3-4) to a win over their Region 7-AAAAAAA opponent Discovery (3-8) on Tuesday in Lawrenceville. The Bulldogs beat the Titans 65-48.
Seitz and Jones-Dicks each scored 16 points for North to lead the offensive effort. Other standouts were Miles Clanton (10 points), Lane Vance (seven assists) and Julian Walker (eight rebounds).
The Bulldogs travel to Peachtree Ridge on Friday, Dec. 16, for a region game. Game starts at 7 p.m.
Girls Basketball
Buford 58, Rabun Gap 54
The Buford (7-0) girls basketball team defeated a tough Rabun Gap (9-4) team 58-54 in its home opener on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Buford Arena.
The offense was led by junior Ava Grace Watson who scored 25 points for the Lady Wolves. Other offensive contributors were senior Taylor Romano (nine points) and junior Betty Nguyen, freshman Lydia Ledford and senior Corin Killian, who each scored seven points.
The Lady Wolves host non-region opponent Calhoun on at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Buford Arena.
North Gwinnett 57, Discovery 32
The North Gwinnett (3-2) girls basketball team defeated Region 7-AAAAAAA opponent Discovery (3-9) in Lawrenceville on Tuesday, Dec. 13, with a final score of 57-32.
The Lady Bulldogs offense was led by Ava Watson with 12 points and Taylor Pennelli with 10 points.
North Gwinnett will travel to play Peachtree Ridge at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, in another region game.
