The Buford High School Football Player of the Week is #9 Aubrey Smith. Smith is a linebacker for the Wolves, and he has been a key defensive player during Buford’s two state championship wins.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior had a stellar performance in Buford’s game against Clarke Central High School on Aug. 27 in Athens. Smith had six tackles, one tackle for a loss, one sack and caused a fumble.
Smith has more than 10 Division I college offers, including offers from Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Florida State. He has yet to verbally commit to a college.
