BUFORD — The nation’s top-ranked baseball team, the Buford Wolves ends their regular season undefeated at 29-0 when they beat Class AAAAAAA Grayson 4-0 on Monday evening.
Before the game, the team honored Buford champions like the 2011 State Champion baseball team, the 2020 State Champion volleyball team, the 2021 State Champion wrestling team and the 2020 State Champion football team.
The Class of 2022’s top-ranked pitcher, Dylan Lesko pitched a strong game against Grayson striking out 18 and only giving up two hits.
The Wolves’ offense was led by Stan Zagrodnik (2-for-3, one RBI), Brant Baughcum (1-for-2), Nate Smith (one RBI), Riley Stanford (1-for-3), Lesko (1-for-3) and Ayden DiGiacomo (1-for-2).
Buford will host Region 5’s fourth seed team in the first round of the state playoffs on April 29-30. The exact date and time are TBD.
