On Wednesday afternoon, Mar. 1 at Buford City Park, both the boys and girls varsity tennis teams for Buford defeated Peachtree Ridge. This was a game that was originally scheduled for Feb. 21 but got postponed. Buford boys won 4-1 and the girls were 3-2 against Peachtree Ridge.
For Buford boys, No. 1 singles player James Troutt defeated Alex So 6-0; 6-4 while Myles Carbis playing at No. 2 singles bested Aidan Ji 6-4; 7-5. Brent Sherman won at No. 3 singles over Davis Wall with set scores of 4-6; 6-3; 11-9. Buford’s No. 2 doubles team of Luke Clark and Owen Sampers beat Dylan Struck and Ryan Gonzalez 7-5; 3-6; 10-5.
The Buford girls won at No. 1 singles with Taylor Aycock in that position. She had scores of 6-1; DNF to defeat Meher Bajwa. No. 2 singles Hannah Davidson bested Stella Passke 6-2; 7-6. The Buford girls also got a win from their No. 1 doubles team of Abigail Foretic and Ella Place after they posted scores of 4-6; 6-1; 10-8 over Trinity Porter and Kaylan Owen.
Both Buford boys and girls tennis teams have an overall season record of 4-3. They both play in the South Forsyth Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
