The Buford community gathered at the Buford Arena today, April 28, 2019, to celebrate some of the most talented youth of Buford High School. Sixteen senior football players were being celebrated for committing to play football at the collegiate level.
The celebration was originally scheduled in February when the original signing day was but the players opted to wait until their teammate, Derrian Brown could join them. Derrian fell ill on January 31, 2019, and underwent surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain. Derrian has fought hard to be able to join his teammates once again and everyone in the crowd cheered when he was announced.
Buford head football coach Bryant Appling recognized each senior player and told a bit about their high school football career, as well as, the college that they have committed to play for in the fall. After the players were recognized, spirits were high as families and friends got in a photo opportunity or two with their favorite player.
