Meet Garrison Brightwell, a second-grader at Buford Academy, and this week’s Reader of the Week. Garrison’s teachers are Ms. Rolin and Mrs. Hunt.
Garrison’s favorite book series is “Galaxy Zack” by Ray O’Ryan. He enjoys reading the “Galaxy Zack” books because they feature exciting adventures in space and on other planets, as well as plenty of fun and laughs. Garrison does not have a favorite genre of book because he enjoys reading anything he can get his hands on.
Garrison loves to read and to spend time with his parents, Paula and Darron, and their dog, Rocky. He also enjoys playing with his friends, learning karate and playing soccer. Garrison’s favorite position in soccer is defense, and he is currently a blue belt in karate. When he isn’t reading or playing with his friends, Garrison enjoys playing board games with his family.
Garrison is an excellent student at Buford Academy. He is always polite and eager to help other students in the media center. In the Accelerated Reader program, Garrison is an Advanced Reader, and he always knocks out his goals every quarter. Garrison’s hard work and attitude, as well as his love for reading, make it clear he is an outstanding student and an excellent choice for the Reader of the Week. Congratulations, Garrison! The media specialists at the Buford Senior Academy and Buford Academy select the Buford City Schools Reader of the Week. Buford students grades first through fifth have a chance at being named the Reader of the Week. In addition to appearing online and in print, the Reader of the Week receives a voucher to Stars and Strikes for all of their hard work.
