Buford Senior Academy fifth-grader Gretchen Mueller is our Reader of the Week.

Gretchen, whose teachers are Mrs. Currie and Mrs. Guilisano, said her favorite book is “The Last Olympian,” the fifth and final book in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series written by her favorite author Rick Riordan.  

“This book is my favorite because … it wrapped up all the exciting stuff that happens in the previous books,” Gretchen said of the fantasy-adventure novel. “I love reading because if I find the right book it is super interesting and fun to read.”

Gretchen’s favorite color is blue and she thinks soccer is the most amazing sport in the world! Her favorite athlete is pro soccer player Alex Morgan who plays for the U.S. women’s national soccer team.

“Gretchen is a fabulous student,” said Sara Blankenship, media specialist at Buford Senior Academy. “She is always willing to help and find something new to read. She loves school and is a great student at BSA!”
