Meet Joren Currie, a student in Mrs. Bagley’s first-grade class at Buford Academy. Joren was picked to be the Reader of the Week for his love of reading and learning all that he can about animals,” says the media specialist for Buford Academy, Mrs. Lana Nix.
Joren loves reading and it shows. He is a chapter book reader and reads at a third-grade level! Joren has already read over 100,000 words this year. His favorite books to read are non-fiction books about animals. Mrs. Nix reveals that Joren “enjoys reptiles and amphibians the most, especially lizards and frogs.”
His parents, Patrick and Melody Currie have a total of four children with Joren being the oldest. Joren is an awesome older brother to his two sisters and one brother. When not at school, he enjoys playing soccer and flying his drone. Joren also likes to play video games with “FIFA Soccer” being his favorite.
Mrs. Nix sings his praises saying, “Joren has the type of personality that everyone loves and adores. He is such a sweet friend and dependable student.”
Congratulations, Joren, for being awarded the Reader of the Week at Buford Academy. We commend your hard work in reaching a third grade level of reading. That is a truly praiseworthy achievement for a first-grade student. Keep up the good work. Go Wolves!
