Meet Nathaniel Choe, a second-grade student at Buford Academy. His teachers at Buford Academy are Mrs. Humble and Mrs. Fontenot. Nathaniel is the Buford Academy Reader of the Week.
“Nathaniel is our first and only second-grade student who has reached becoming a million-word club member and reaching 100 points in AR (advanced reading). He set a goal to make it into the million-word club and made it before we left for the holidays in December,” says Mrs. Lana Nix, Buford Academy Media Specialist. “This is a very big achievement for a second-grader, but he is such an avid reader we knew he would reach his goal quickly.”
The “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series is his favorite book series to read and that series’ author, Jeff Kinney is his favorite author. Nathaniel also enjoys reading books about sports. Mrs. Nix claims, “His enthusiasm for reading is such a joy to watch. He loves reading long books because the longer the book the longer he gets to read.”
David and Jennifer are proud of their son Nathaniel. He is an older brother to a four-year-old brother and a three-year-old sister. Nathaniel and his dad love to play Madden on the PS4. He also enjoys playing outside with his friends. Nathaniel currently plays baseball but plans on playing football in the fall. His favorite position to play in baseball is shortstop because he gets the best view of the infield. He also plays in the circle and left field.
