Buford Academy’s Reader of the Week is Louie Williams III. Louie is in Mr. Counts’ third grade class.
Louie lives with his mom and dad, James and Katie, and siblings Phineas and Thea, who are in first grade and kindergarten.
According to Buford Academy Media Specialist Lana Nix, Louie has already met his AR goal for the third quarter.
“He is also well on his way to making it into the million word club,” Nix said.
Louie says his favorite genres are fantasy and humor, so it’s no wonder his favorite book series is “The Last Kids on Earth” by Max Brallier. Louie says he likes the plot, the zombies and that it only focuses on a couple of characters.
He says his favorite author is Jeff Kinney, and his favorite Kinney series is “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”
“I really like how he (Kinney) thinks and writes like a kid and that he understands and gets kid humor,” Louie said.
Outside of school, Louie likes to play frisbee and other games with his younger brother in their backyard. He hopes to be able to play soccer in the spring. Louie says one thing he would like to learn how to do is whistle.
“Louie is a super neat student,” Nix said. “He is very quiet and polite, and any conversation you get to have with Louie is always memorable.”
