Fifth grader Madelyn Humphries is Buford Senior Academy’s Reader of the Week.
Madelyn says her mom, Shannon, got her books when she was younger, “and I have been interested since.” Her favorite author is J.K. Rowling.
“I feel like I am living inside the book whenever I read it,” Madelyn said. “It feels like I am watching and listening to everything that is going on.”
This is Madelyn’s first year in Buford.
“It’s been a pleasure to get to know Madelyn this school year,” said Mrs. Stacy Buffo, Madelyn’s ELA teacher. “She is an avid reader and enjoys fantasy books. I am so impressed and inspired by Madelyn’s love of reading!”
BSA Media Specialist Emily Stewart said, “Madelyn is a remarkable young lady who works hard, cares about doing well in school, and always shows integrity!”
According to Stewart, Madelyn has read more than 25 books this school year and has read more than a million words.
Besides reading, Madelyn likes to do gymnastics in her free time. She is working on her aerial and is looking forward to cheering on the Wolves in the future.
