Meet Nya Ezeilo, a fourth grader at the Buford Senior Academy. Nya’s teachers are Mrs. McGraw and Mrs. Buffo. This week, Nya is being honored as the Reader of the Week because of her love and devotion to reading!
Nya’s favorite book is “Words on Fire,” written by Jennifer A. Nielsen, Nya’s favorite author. Nya said the book has “a lot of cool things and time periods,” which is why it is her favorite.
Nya’s favorite book genre is nonfiction. What Nya enjoys most about reading is the enjoyment and happiness she gets from it!
In her free time, Nya enjoys participating in karate and gymnastics. She also loves art.
Sara Blankenship, the media specialist at Buford Senior Academy, speaks about how great of a book-lover Nya is. She says, “Nya is a precious reader. She has a sweet spirit and always makes us smile.”

Buford students grades first through fifth have a chance at being named the Reader of the Week. In addition to appearing online and in print, the Reader of the Week receives a voucher to Stars and Strikes for all of their hard work.
