Eliana Acosta’s fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Kerry Moon, has high praise for this outstanding reader.

“Eliana has a true passion and love for reading,” Mrs. Moon says. “She is always on the hunt for the next great book to add to her collection.”

Eliana’s favorite book is “Stranger Things: Science Camp,” a graphic novel written by Jody Houser and illustrated by Edgar Salazar and Keith Champagne. The story follows the Netflix series’ character Dustin as he attends science camp, where he confronts a mysterious and sinister figure wearing an Albert Einstein mask and teams up with fellow camper Suzie, also a character in the Netflix series, to solve the mysterious disappearances of several camp counselors.

“I am a big fan of ‘Stranger Things,’” Eliana says. “The book was very thrilling to read. The book told us more details about what happened at the science camp.”

While Eliana enjoys reading, she also enjoys seeing stories taken from page to screen.

“What I like to do is after I read a book, I enjoy watching the movies for it,” Eliana says, sharing the following advice: “I also recommend you read the book before watching the movie.”

This fourth grader’s hobbies include playing soccer, making bracelets, participating in gymnastics and skateboarding. Her current plans for the future include becoming a professional soccer player.

“I have a strong passion for soccer because it’s exciting and fun,” she says.

“Eliana is a hard worker, and is always striving to do her very best,” Mrs. Moon says. “She is one amazing young lady!”
