Fourth-grader Holland Hensley knows reading will take her places in life, her English/language arts teacher Mrs. Ashley Austin says.
“If she has any extra time, her book is open and she is reading,” Mrs. Austin says. “She enjoys reading nonfiction books, especially the ‘Who Was’ series. She loves a good reading challenge from the media center and is driven to meet those goals.”
Holland has been selected as Buford Senior Academy’s Reader Spotlight because of her work ethic and desire to challenge herself.
Nonfiction books may be Holland’s favorite genre, but the fiction book “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White is her favorite book overall.
“I love the animals on the farm and their sweet friendships! When I’m older, I hope to live on a farm and have my own animals,” Holland says.
When asked what her hobbies are, Holland says, “I love going on trips with my family, spending time with Mimi and Poppy, and playing with friends. I also love playing school with my little sister, Mills.”
Holland’s strong work ethic will play a vital role in her future career goals as she says, “When I grow up I want to be a NICU nurse because I love babies!”
Congratulations, Holland, on being a Reader Spotlight!
