Fifth-grader Oscar Tamez has been selected for a Buford City Schools’ reader spotlight because of his love for reading.
“I enjoy reading because it takes me everywhere beyond my imagination and books are a treasure of knowledge,” says Oscar.
His favorite book is “Projekt 1065” because he says, “”It has good facts about World War II.”
Oscar’s Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Tiffany Rodriguez says, “Oscar loves to read and spends every spare moment of his time with his nose in a book. He’s a great asset to have during a novel discussion because he often adds a different insight to the conversation. His love of books is inspiring and motivating.”
When Oscar isn’t nose-deep in a book, he can be found practicing karate, playing baseball and planning his future which includes him becoming a police officer “to help and protect others.”
