Willow Kim, a first grade student in Miss Torres’ class at Buford Academy, has been chosen as a Reader Spotlight “for her very enthusiastic spirit about reading and sheer excitement about getting new books to check-out and read each time she visits the media center,” said Lana Nix, the media specialist at Willow’s school.
“Willow has already achieved her (Accelerated Reading) goal for the first quarter,” Nix added. “She works really hard on her reading. She knows the harder she works on her reading the stronger she becomes.”
Willow’s favorite book series is Elephant and Piggie, an early readers series written by Mo Willems about an elephant named Gerald and a pig called Piggie.
“She loves the stories because they are funny and make her laugh,” Nix said.
Willow is the daughter of Anglea and Hung Kim, and she has an older sister, Madolyn, a 10th grader at Buford High School. The family has a puppy named Ashy.
