BUFORD — The Buford City School System is hosting a Holiday Blood Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at the Buford Arena located on Sawnee Avenue. The blood drive will last from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All blood types are still needed for standard blood donations.
Donors with the blood types O+, O-, A- and B- are able to be a Power Red donor (Double Donor). Power Reds are the red cells in your blood and are used to treat primarily trauma patients, newborns and emergency transfusions during birth, people with sickle cell anemia, and anyone suffering blood loss. During this type of donation, your red cells are separated from your other blood components by an automated process. Your plasma and platelets are safely and comfortably returned to your body.
