LAKE SIDNEY LANIER — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced on Tuesday that they will close Buford Dam Road temporarily to do road improvement work. Buford Dam Road will be closed on Wednesday, January 22 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in order to repair the roadway.
The closure of Buford Dam Road will necessitate the closure of several parks along the stretch of road that will be in the repair zone. The parks inside the repair zone that will be closed include:
- Lower Overlook
- Lower Pool West
- West Bank Turn-Out
According to the press release from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Lake Lanier Project Management Office and the Visitor Center will remain open.
