Buford gas station burglarized

BUFORD — Nalleys II, a long-time convenience store near Lake Lanier in Buford, was broken into during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 18.  An officer with the Gwinnett County Police Department was dispatched to the store located at 5671 Shadburn Ferry Road in response to a burglary call.

The officer arrived on the scene to find that the front door glass had been damaged, and he observed items from the store on the ground.  The officer could not access the interior of the store, so the owner of Nalleys II, Narpat Purohit, was called and came to the scene to let the officer inside the store.

Once inside, the officer stated that he saw items on the floor and counter.  The store’s cash register and cash drawer were also on the floor.

Video footage showed that at approximately 2:15 a.m., a white male approximately six feet tall, 170 lbs. and wearing a gray hoodie and black pants entered the property.  At 2:23 a.m. the video showed the male enter the business by breaking the glass with a rock. Once inside, the male was observed loading an assortment of items into a cardboard box. After just a couple of minutes, the male exited the store and left the scene on foot.

Police learned that the suspect who is described as being a tall white male who is thin in build and has a receding hairline was dropped off by someone driving an older model Ford Ranger.  The Ford which is an extended cab with broken side rear window that is covered with plastic or cardboard circles the area.  When the suspect is finished in the store, the Ford and leaves the scene.
