The future of Buford cross country looks strong as the Buford Middle School girls’ team places first and the boys’ place second at the North Hall Invitational held at North Hall High School on Sept. 9.

The girls’ team had more runners finish in the top 20 than any other team at the meet with seven in the top 20. This helped to secure the team a first-place finish out of the 13 teams that competed in the middle school girl’s division at the North Hall Invitational.

The Buford Middle School girls who placed in the top 20 at the meet were Alexandria Conwell (5th), Emma Webb (6th), Deyabdi Rendon (8th), Ava Rodriguez (10th), Jaelyn Ozkan (12th), Eloise Jones (17th) and Mia Bouton (18th).

The boys’ team had the top place finisher for all Buford teams at the meet as DJ Clarke came in second place. The two additional BMS boys in the top 20 were Chris Alcott (4th) and Matthew Crabbe (14th).

The Buford Middle School cross country teams will compete next at the Run at the River Middle School Meet at Riverwatch Middle School in Suwanee on Sept. 15.
