BMS car show

Calling all car enthusiasts, the Buford Middle School Car Show Fundraiser is back this year after a successful first year in 2021. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than last year and will feature fun for the entire family.

The car show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the parking lot of the Buford Arena.

This free event is open to anyone wishing to view a variety of vehicles, including vintage automobiles, muscle cars, Jeeps, modern vehicles and more. Several awards will be presented, including a Top 20, Best High Schooler’s Vehicle and an Administration’s Choice.

In addition to the car show, various vendors will be present. Examples of a few of the vendors include custom automotive products, baked goods, homemade household items, clothing, nail polish, jewelry, automotive cleaning supplies, real estate companies, crocheted gifts, Buford spiritwear, military items and more. A few vendors will even be there seeking job applicants.

Tasty treats will be available for purchase from food trucks like Black Market Barbecue, Lobster Dogs, Simple Dee-Likes, All Around the World, Kona Ice and King of Pops.

A silent auction open to the public will be held during the car show, and some of the items include a Buford themed basket, Falcons tickets, a Stars and Strikes Entertainment Pass, a Georgia Gun Club Family certificate, a Scentsy basket and more.

A DJ will play primarily hits from the 1950s to the 1980s with a few of today’s hits mixed in. Kids will have their own dance contest and hula hoop contests will be held periodically throughout the day.

Buford Middle School is still accepting vehicle registrations for the show. Those who register and pay by Friday, May 13, will receive a $5 discount on the $25 entry fee as well as an event T-shirt featuring the new car show logo and a goodie bag.

The fee for those who register after the cutoff date or register the day of the event is $25.

Vendors are still being accepted for the event, and the deadline to register and pay for a 10-by-10 space is May 13. The vendor fee is $50.

The second annual BMS Car Show Fundraiser is presented by The Gwin Team.

All proceeds from the car show will go to purchase supplies and teaching materials for the teachers at Buford Middle School.
