Buford native wins Miss Jr. High School America

Charley Martin, a three-time recipient of the Gold Presidential Award, has been crowned Miss Jr. High School America.

The Miss Jr. High School America pageant recognizes girls in 5th-8th grade who excel academically, demonstrate leadership and actively contribute to their communities.

“Charley Martin’s award-winning initiatives reflect her passion for making a difference and her ability to inspire others to do the same,” a press release read.

Martin impressed judges with her poise, confidence, and outstanding performance, earning her a prize package valued at $100,000.

“Her win not only celebrates her individual accomplishments but also highlights the district’s commitment to empowering students to achieve their full potential and make meaningful contributions to society,” a press release said.

As part of her initiative, Martin plans to visit classrooms and collaborate with the Girl Scouts nationally to spread awareness and encourage positive behaviors among young people.
