Buford sophomore Caroline Stanton took the mound Tuesday, Sept. 11, in a region game against Mountain View High School and closed the matchup in just three innings, pitching a perfect game — her second of the season.
The Wolves would blank their opponent 16-0. This is the second time Buford has come up against Mountain View. In the first matchup two weeks ago, Buford edged out the Bears with a 4-3 win at home.
On Tuesday, Stanton stepped onto the mound with a 9-run lead in the bottom of the first inning and went on to limit Mountain Views players at the plate, allowing no hits, no runs scored, no walks and notching four strikeouts. At the plate herself, Stanton hit a solo home run to push Buford over the 15-run limit.
Buford improves to 14-0 on the season and 5-0 in Region 8 Class AAAAAAA.
