In a press release issued on Friday, Mar. 5, 2021, Sprouts Farmer’s Market announced plans to open approximately 20 stores this year including a location in Buford. Four of the new stores will feature a smaller format.
Sprouts Farmers Market is a healthy grocer that provides customers with a unique farmer’s market experience. They feature “a curated selection of innovative and responsibly sourced healthy products.”
The grocery chain has been growing rapidly in Florida since 2018. It currently has 23 stores with 10 new stores planned for this year. New stores that are slated for Dania Beach, Fla., Grand Prairie, Texas, Phoenix, Ariz., and Smyrna, Ga. will be built using the smaller 25,000 square feet model. Sprouts to date operate 15 stores in the state of Georgia.
“Our refreshed format highlights the unique experience Sprouts is known for while emphasizing product innovation, attributes and departments meaningful to our target customers like high-quality meat and seafood, frozen items and plant-based products,” said Dave McGlinchey, Sprouts Chief Format Officer. “The smaller size is very efficient and keeps produce at the heart of the store while maintaining our familiar open layout that will offer more assortment of products for a treasure hunt shopping experience.”
Along with the new store locations, the grocery chain will be opening two new local produce distribution centers this year. In March, the first new produce distribution center will open in Aurora, Colo. and then in Orlando, Fla. set to open later this year.
