BUFORD — On Wednesday night at the Buford Softball Complex, the Lady Wolves defeated Archer 5-3.  Freshman Olivia Duncan would pitch for five innings giving up four hits, three runs, and two walks while striking out six batters.  Senior Amelia Veal (4-0) would take over for Duncan on the mound.  Veal would pitch for two innings not allowing any hits or runs to be scored.

Archer would score first in the top of the second off of a throwing error by third baseman Kenni Bauman.  They would score again in the third inning when a throwing error by Anabel Adams allowed Jordyn Sanders to reach third base and then score.  The fourth inning, Archer added another run when Taylor Anderson stole home.

In the bottom of the fourth, Buford would finally answer back when a throwing error by Archer’s Olivia Craig allowed Kaitlyn Pickens to score.  Duncan, after being relieved of pitching duties came back to play first base.  She would hit a double in the bottom of the sixth that allowed Alicia Ross and Emi Hall to score.  This tied the game at 3-3.  Bauman singled in the sixth that saw Kara Taylor’s pinch runner, Shamya Young and Emmaline Williams who was the pinch runner for Duncan score as well. This would bring the Lady Wolves up 5-3.  Archer wasn’t able to mount a comeback.
