BUFORD — Three Buford players collected four hits apiece as the Wolves defeated Seckinger 17-4 in a Region 8-7A matchup Thursday at Seckinger High School.
Senior Brooklyn Atha led Buford’s 18-hit attack, going 4-for-6 with three doubles, three RBIs and four runs scored. She also stole a base.

Sophomore LG Goldin finished 4-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs and two stolen bases, while senior Janie Goldin went 4-for-6 with an RBI, two runs and two stolen bases.
Buford took an early lead when LG Goldin delivered an RBI single in the first inning. The Wolves added two runs in the second, including one when Mackenzie Fritsch stole home and another on an RBI single by Ella Pierce Hensley.
Seckinger scored four runs in the third inning, but Buford answered with five runs in the fifth. Atha drove in two runs with a double, LG Goldin added an RBI single, Ansley Kehren brought home a run on a fielder’s choice and Lydia Hamrick contributed an RBI single.
The Wolves put the game away with six runs in the seventh. Kehren opened the inning with a solo home run before RBI singles by Janie Goldin, Atha and LG Goldin helped extend Buford’s lead.
Junior Taylor Sawyer went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, three walks and a run scored. Hamrick added two hits, while Buford drew nine walks and recorded 10 stolen bases.
Freshman Carsyn Hunter earned the win to improve to 2-0. She allowed four runs, two earned, on two hits while striking out five. Junior Taylor Jackson pitched four scoreless innings in relief, allowing three hits and striking out four to earn the save.
Buford improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 8-7A. The Wolves will visit Dacula for another region matchup at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.
