Coming off a 9-0 shutout against South Forsyth on Saturday, the Buford High School softball team goes into an away game today against Cambridge High School in Milton on a six-game winning streak.
During Saturday’s game, sophomore Addison Rackley picked up the win for the Wolves on the mound, pitching five innings and allowing just two hits and striking out nine batters — a career high. At bat, Rackley went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Standout playmakers for the Wolves against South Forsyth
- Senior Mackenzie Pickens went 2-for-3 with a solo home run — her sixth of the season — an RBI and one run scored
- Senior Adriana Martinez went 2-for-3 with one walk and two runs scored
- Senior Madison Pickens went 1-for-3 with a solo home run — her fourth of the season — an RBI and one run scored
Saturday’s win marked the Wolves’ fifth shutout in six games.
Following today’s away game at Cambridge, which is 3-2 on the season, the Wolves begin region play with a home game against Mountain View on Thursday, Aug. 24.
