BUFORD — Both the Buford boys and girls tennis teams captured the Region 8-AAAAAA Championship title on Thursday at Buford City Park.
The Buford boys varsity tennis team took on Lanier and defeated them 3-0 to win the region title.
The Wolves won off of the completed matches from James Troutt at the No. 2 singles position, Leyton Grothe and Nic Keller at No. 1 doubles and Brent Sherman and Grayson Gilbert playing at No. 2 doubles.
Buford ends their regular season with an overall record of 12-4.
They will take on the fourth seed team from Region 5-AAAAAA in the first round of the state playoffs at home. The date and time are to be determined.

Winning their matches were the No. 2 doubles team of Taylor Ryczek and Sophie Brewer, Kennedy Deloach and Kylie McCammon at No. 1 doubles and Berkley Clark at the No. 3 singles position.
The Lady Wolves also end their regular season with an overall record of 12-4.
They too will face the fourth-seeded team out of Region 5-AAAAAA at home for the first round of the state playoffs. Date and time are to be determined.
