BUFORD — The Buford varsity volleyball team hosted both Norcross and Flowery Branch in their home opener on Thursday night at Buford High School. Buford took on Norcross (3-3) first and beat them with set scores of 29-27 and 25-16. The Wolves then took on the Flowery Branch Falcons (0-6) claiming victory in both sets going 25-12 and 25-6.
Leading the kills on Thursday night for Buford was junior Mikayla Haden with 14. Not too far behind Haden was Camryn Carlton with 9 kills. Sophomore Polly Cummings started off her varsity team career with 38 assists. Leading the defense was senior Macy Upshaw with 14 digs.
Buford’s overall season record is now 7-0. On Tuesday, August 25, Buford will play at Greater Atlanta Christian Academy against GAC and Jefferson. Their first game against GAC begins at 5 p.m. and they take on Jefferson at 6 p.m.
