BUFORD — Senior setter Grace Adams did a great job setting up the kills for Buford volleyball in their game against Lassiter on Saturday in the second round of the GHSA Class AAAAAA State Playoffs.  The Wolves took the first two sets 25-20, 31-29 but dropped the third set to the Trojans 18-25.  Buford would rally in the fourth set to beat Lassiter 25-23 to advance to the Elite Eight.

Adams had 47 assists in which she did a stellar job of spreading the kills between multiple teammates.  UC Berkley commit Mikayla Hayden led Buford’s offense with 13 kills.  Also contributing to the Wolves’ offense were sophomore Ashley Sturzoiu with 11 kills, sophomore Sydney Austin who had nine kills, junior Kiana Polk contributed with eight kills and junior Camryn Carlton had six kills against the Trojans.

Buford improves to 30-2 on their season.

The Wolves will travel to play Richmond Hill (20-10) in the Elite Eight on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
