Buford senior volleyball player, Mikayla Hayden got her 1,000th career kill on Tuesday night as the Lady Wolves hosted Greater Atlanta Christian and South Forsyth.
The Lady Wolves first played GAC and beat them 25-20, 25-9. Hayden led the offense with nine kills. Senior Kiana Polk also put in a strong performance with six kills against GAC. This game got Hayden her 100th career win and 999th kill as a member of the Buford volleyball team.
In their second game of the evening, Buford defeated South Forsyth 25-7,25-6. This game gave Hayden her 1,000th career kill as a Lady Wolf. She once again led the offense with nine kills with Polk also putting in a good performance with seven kills.
Hayden has been a vital part of Buford volleyball’s success including winning the state championship last year. She is committed to the University of California at Berkley. She has been selected for the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association’s All-State Team in 2018 and 2020, as well as an Honorable Mention in 2019. Hayden also earned 2021 AVCA All-America honors along with Polk. She was last year’s Region 8-AAAAAA Player of the Year.
Buford volleyball improves to 12-1 on the season.
The Lady Wolves volleyball team will be on the road on Thursday as they play at Centennial.
