MACON — The Buford varsity wrestling team knew that the traditional state championships wouldn’t be easy.  They expected Woodland-Cartersville to not make things easy for the Wolves.  Woodland-Cartersville would take the top spot in Class AAAAA leaving Buford as runner-up.

The Wolves produced four individual champions from their talented senior wrestlers.  Nick Stonecheck (152) earned his fourth state championship title on Saturday.  Charlie Darracott (160), Blaine Bergey (182), and Evan DiMaggio (220) also won their weight classes to contribute to Buford’s second-place finish.

Other notable finishes for the Wolves were

Tyler Henley (126) – Third Place

Nick Cambria (120) – Fourth Place

J.T. McCullough (132) – Fifth Place

Jacob Downing (170) – Fifth Place
