Buford High School’s baseball team has had no shortage of talented players over the years. This year’s senior class boasts two of the most talented players in the school’s history. Dylan Lesko and Riley Stanford have earned accolade after accolade over the years and the accomplishments keep coming in for the pair.
The talented duo was recently selected to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic game in San Diego on Sunday, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. airing on the MLB Network. During the festivities surrounding the game, it was announced that Lesko won the PG Pitcher of the Year while Stanford was named the PG Two-Way Player of the Year.
Both players have earned awards and chances to play in high-level games in the past. Most recently, Lesko and Stanford were both selected to play in the prestigious High School All-American game back in July. Stanford competed in the home run derby during the MLB All-Star weekend as well. The biggest accomplishment came when Lesko won the 2021 Gatorade National Player of the Year award becoming the first player in the history of the award to win it as a junior. All others have been seniors upon winning the award.
