Buford senior Olivia Haag pitched her first-ever no-hitter against Lanier on Tuesday at the Buford Softball Complex. The Lady Wolves would defeat the Lady Longhorns after four innings with a final score of 12-0 to improve their season record in Region 8-AAAAAA to 8-2.
Haag (3-0) would strike out nine batters and walk one in her four innings of work.
Taylor Malvin would lead the Buford offense as she was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs, one run scored and two stolen bases. Madison Pickens contributed with a triple earning two RBIs. She also scored a run in the bottom of the third inning. Other notable offensive standouts were Emma Manders was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and Olivia Duncan who went 1-for-2 and earned an RBI.
Buford (17-2-1, 8-2) will have its third game in as many games on Wednesday when they are on the road to play region opponent Shiloh at Shiloh. The game starts at 5:30 p.m.
