It’s blooming in Buford, so grab your family and friends and check out the Buford Business Alliance Spring Festival being held in the heart of the city. The festival is making its first appearance since 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at the Buford Amphitheater on Main Street.
The spring festival has something for everyone to enjoy. More than 40 local businesses will have booths set up. They range from vendors selling home decor, fashion and accessories and skincare to family services such as doctors, chiropractors and veterinarians to other local businesses. Adorable pets waiting for their forever family will also be at the festival through the local humane society. Culinary treats from food vendors such as On the Mark Chili, Kona Ice, O’ Sweet Bakery and more will be available.
“The festival will have great vendors where you can get a little shopping done for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, all while supporting local small businesses,” said Freda Kalina, president of the Buford Business Alliance.
If shopping is not your thing, there will be entertainment on the amphitheater stage that will feature various performers, guest speakers and music provided by Jammin’ DJs.
“I decided on the theme for the Buford Business Alliance’s Spring Fest 2022 as ‘It’s blooming in Buford!’ because I wanted us to highlight on not just the time of year — spring and all that blooms this time of year; but also to highlight all the wonderful things happening in Buford — the blooming growth of our Business Alliance, the City of Buford and our diverse community and businesses,” said event organizer Beverly Reynolds.
The more than 100-member strong Business Alliance hosts several events open to the public every year. In addition to the spring festival, the BBA will host Buford Restaurant Week in June, a Christmas in July event, a business expo in the fall and the annual Holiday Festival and Parade in December.
Kalina believes the purpose of the BBA is to promote the whole community, not just one sector. Without local residents, local small businesses would not be able to give back to the community with events such as this one or be able to sponsor local schools.
This year’s BBA Spring Festival is sponsored at the gold level by The Senior Journey. Silver level sponsors include Spraggins Law Firm, Guaranty Mortgage Services, Luxe Aesthetics Studio, the North Gwinnett Voice and Cleaned Bins. The bronze level sponsors are Card My Yard and ecomaids of Buford.
The spring festival will require the closure of East Main Street between South Hill and Wilson streets from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. Parking is available along Main Street, as well as at the downtown parking garage at the corner of East Moreno and South Harris streets.
