A dispute earlier this month between a customer and an employee at a Buford restaurant escalated into the customer pulling a gun, a Gwinnett County Police Department incident report details.
The incident occurred before midnight Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at the El Picante Bar and Grill at 4195 S. Lee St. in Buford. According to the incident report, the customer had been asked to leave the establishment after closing hours and refused. He demanded that the employee serve him more drinks. When she refused, the customer became furious and broke a glass bottle in his hand by slamming it against the bar counter before slapping the employee across the face. He then brandished a firearm, pointed the weapon at the employee and demanded she dance with him.
Other customers then intervened and the suspect, along with a companion, fled the restaurant.
The customer was described as a Hispanic male with a short fade haircut with a tattoo across his lower back and a tattoo of Santa Muerte on one of his forearms.
