The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the two drive-by-shooting incidents which occurred over the weekend of Dec. 2.
The separate incidents were both reported to authorities early Saturday morning,
Officers arrived at the first scene of a local residence on the 200 block of Shallowford Road in Gainesville at around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival they found a 15-year-old male victim who had received a gunshot wound in his arm. They also found several other people at the house at that time, including young children. There were no other reported injuries.
The next call came in a little after 3:00 a.m. regarding an incident at another residence in the 1700 block of Crow Drive in Gainesville. Here, investigators discovered a vehicle which had been visibly damaged by gunfire.
During the course of the day, three witnesses were taken into custody for questioning but were eventually released without any pending charges for the time being.
Ongoing investigations into the incident have indicated that the two shootings are related. Police say they are believed to be targeted shootings and not at all random.
Investigators are currently questioning other potential witnesses. They have also confiscated electronic devices found at the scene which are being scanned for usable evidence.
This is a developing story.
