SUGAR HILL — Firefighters with the Gwinnett County Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at a mobile home in the early morning hours of Easter Sunday in Sugar Hill.

At approximately 3:08 a.m., crews found heavy smoke coming from a single-story mobile home on Craig Drive off of Hillcrest Drive in Sugar Hill.  The scene was declared under control at 3:55 a.m.

No one was home at the time of the fire.  The homeowner was contacted and later came to the scene.

The home sustained heavy damage as did its contents.

Per the Fire Investigator, the blaze appears accidental and started in the void space in the ceiling,” said Captain Tommy Rutledge of the Gwinnett County Fire Department.

The fire investigator was not able to rule out the possibility that the fire was caused by an electrical source.

The Red Cross was called in to help three adults that were displaced by the fire.
