In a statement released by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, the sister of Retired Sgt. Felix Cosme, Jr. speaks out on behalf of the Cosme family. Cosme lost his life Wednesday night trying to defend his co-worker from a robber.
“My brother, retired Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Felix Cosme, was callously gunned down on Wednesday as he attempted to protect himself and another employee during a robbery attempt at the auto shop where they worked. We are deeply saddened and heartbroken over this senseless shooting.
We wish to thank the Gwinnett County Police Department, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, and GBI law enforcement officials for their immediate attention to the crime scene and the pending investigation working to identify the killer, co-conspirators, and other known associates. We know the diligent efforts of these hard working professionals will ensure this killer is brought to justice.
We also express our gratitude to the Crowell Brothers Funeral Home for generously providing their funeral services at no cost. Their thoughtful contribution is a gift not only to our family, but to the entire law enforcement community.
