Firefighters with Hall County Fire Services responded to a call about a shed fire in the 6200 block of Lollis Creek Road in Flowery Branch on Monday morning, May 2.
Hall County Fire Services responded to the call at 7:15 a.m. and found a storage building fully engulfed in flames. A nearby pull behind camper and a vehicle received exterior damage caused by the heat and smoke from the fire in the storage building.
While fighting the blaze, the occupant on the scene communicated to firefighters that they had a dog that was trapped in a dog pen near the storage building. Firefighters quickly deployed an additional fire hose to protect the dog pen from the fire.
“Firefighters quickly removed the dog from the hazardous environment and returned the dog to the owner, the dog suffered minor injuries,” said Christie Grice, Hall County Fire Services public information officer. “The occupant advised he would stay with a nearby family member.”
Hall County had the fire extinguished and the scene cleared by approximately 10:15 a.m. No injuries, civilian or firefighter, were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The origin will be investigated by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
