TROY, Ala. — Former Buford High School football player Quentin Skinner will continue his college career at Troy University after spending three seasons as a long snapper at LSU.

Skinner, a 2019 Buford graduate, entered the transfer portal in March. He is expected to compete for Troy’s starting long snapper position, which became vacant following the graduation of All-American Cameron Kaye.

Skinner appeared in 23 games during his career with the LSU Tigers, including 10 games in 2020 and 12 in 2021.

At Buford, Skinner earned first-team all-state honors as a long snapper. He also received the 2019 Chris Rubio Award, which recognizes the nation’s top high school long snapper, and was selected to play in the 2019 All-American Bowl.

Skinner’s experience is expected to provide stability for Troy’s special teams unit as the Trojans prepare for the upcoming season.
