A former Gwinnett County teacher/coach has been charged with sexual assault following an incident reported at his most recent place of employment, Crisp County High School.
On Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested David Lamberth and charged the 42-year-old with one count of sexual assault. The incident is reported to have taken place with one student at the school, where Lamberth was a special education teacher and head high school baseball coach.
According to the GBI, Lamberth resigned from his position with Crisp County School System on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020. He has been employed with that school system since August 2013 and had served as both a varsity and middle school coach during his employment. Prior to retaining a job with Crisp County, Lamberth worked for the Gwinnett County School System.
Lamberth was booked into the Dooly County Jail.
According to the GBI, the investigation is active and ongoing and additional charges are expected to be filed.
