The Gwinnett County Public Library is observing National Library Week from today, Sunday, April 3, through Saturday, April 9, with the theme “Connect with Your Library.”
GCPL has outlined five ways to connect with the library on its website.
The library system has 15 branches throughout Gwinnett County, with branches in Buford and Suwanee. The Buford-Sugar Hill branch is located at 2100 Buford Highway in Buford, and the Suwanee branch is at 361 Main St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Tuesday, April 5, is National Library Workers Day, a day set aside to recognize the contributions of library staff and administrators, and residents who stop by their local library can show their appreciation by thanking library employees.
“Libraries are places where communities connect — to things like broadband, computers programs and classes, books, movies, video games, and more. But most importantly, libraries connect us to each other,” said Molly Shannon, multiple Emmy-nominated and Spirit Award-winning actress, comedian and Saturday Night Live cast member who is serving as National Library Week honorary chair.
