Staff Reports

The Georgia DOT will begin replacing concrete slabs on I-985.  Thirty-nine damaged sections of concrete will be removed and replaced in this project which will begin on December 28th at 7 p.m.  The project is slated to last almost five weeks.

This project will create lane closures on both I-985 and I-85 near Buford in the northbound lanes.  While the concrete replacement will be on I-985, it will cause traffic to be reduced on I-85 northbound.  This will happen approximately half a mile before the I-985/I-85 interchange. I-985 northbound will be reduced to one lane while the damaged sections of concrete are removed and replaced.

Drivers will experience continuous lane closures starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 28th until 5 a.m. on Monday, January 31st.

Please plan accordingly.
