The Georgia High School Association’s Board of Trustees met on Monday to discuss the fate of fall sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A few of Georgia’s neighbors have already pushed back the start of fall sports seasons. At Monday’s meeting, the GHSA voted to delay the start of the football season by two weeks making the new season start date September 4.
The GHSA also voted to keep the full 10-game schedule for high school football and to keep the full playoff schedule.
All other fall sports seasons will start on time.
For Buford fans, expect the school district to go with a cashless system in order to have less contact between fans and staff members at sporting events this fall.
