Area residents in need of a safe and eco-friendly way to dispose of live cut trees after Christmas are invited to use the city of Suwanee’s “treecycling” program, which gives trees a post-holiday purpose — the trees will be turned into mulch for Suwanee parks.
The program is part of Keep Georgia Beautiful’s Bring One for the Chipper initiative, and trees can be dropped off now through Saturday, Jan. 7, at Sims Lake Park at 4600 Suwanee Dam Road. Volunteers will be available to assist with unloading trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7.
Decorations, lights, and stands should be removed from all trees prior to dropoff.
Last year, mulch from nearly 1,200 trees was spread in Suwanee parks.
